Certification Statement

I certify that the information provided in this application is true and accurate. I understand that CYBR.SEC.Careers may request documentation to verify citizenship, residency, enrollment, military status, or other eligibility requirements before an award is finalized.

Scholarship Program Terms and Conditions

By applying for the Taylor Austin Broussard Memorial Scholarship ("Scholarship"), the applicant ("Applicant") agrees to the following terms and conditions:


Documentation

Applicant must be able to provide valid and verifiable documentation supporting all information provided in the application, including but not limited to:

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship

  • Proof of Texas residency

  • Proof of age

  • Proof of financial need

  • Official academic transcripts (GPA)

  • Proof of enrollment or acceptance into an eligible university, college, or training program

  • Documentation verifying the applicant's legal name and identity when necessary to facilitate scholarship disbursement

 

Selection Process and Award Determination

Certification awards are made through a competitive review process. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee funding.

Applications are evaluated based on factors including, but not limited to:

  • Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity

  • Alignment between the requested certification and career goals

  • Evidence of preparation and effort toward certification attainment

  • Potential workforce impact

  • Availability of funding


CYBR.SEC.Careers reserves the right to deny funding to applicants who fail to demonstrate sufficient preparation, commitment, or alignment with the purpose of the certification program.

 

Additional Eligibility Requirements for Veteran Applicants

  • Applicants seeking certification funding through veteran-designated scholarship or certification funds may be required to provide documentation verifying military service and discharge status.

  • Unless otherwise specified by the funding source, veteran applicants must have received an Honorable Discharge or General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions from the United States Armed Forces.

  • CYBR.SEC.Careers recognizes and values service across all branches of the United States Armed Forces, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve components. Eligibility for veteran-specific funding is not determined by branch of service, military occupation, deployment history, or active-duty status. Applicants who have served honorably in any component of the U.S. military and meet the eligibility requirements of the funding opportunity are encouraged to apply.

  • CYBR.SEC.Careers reserves the right to determine eligibility for veteran-specific funding based on documentation provided, donor restrictions, available funding, and alignment with the purpose of the certification program.

 

Award Disbursement


Direct Payment

  • Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution, certification provider, or approved vendor. Funds will not be distributed directly to recipients unless otherwise approved by CYBR.SEC.Careers.


Acceptance of Award

  1. Awards must be accepted in writing at the time of notification before the stated deadline. Failure to formally accept the scholarship within the specified timeframe shall result in forfeiture and reallocation of the award.

  2. Scholarships cannot be deferred. If the Applicant wishes to receive a scholarship at a later date, they must reapply during the appropriate award cycle.

  3. Applicants authorize CYBR.SEC.Careers to verify enrollment, academic standing, and eligibility information with educational institutions when necessary to administer the scholarship program.


General Provisions:

Certification-Specific Requirements

  • Recipients are expected to make a good-faith effort to complete the certification or training program for which funding was awarded.

  • CYBR.SEC.Careers may request proof of registration, exam completion, or certification attainment as a condition of future funding opportunities.

  • Failure to utilize awarded certification funds may result in ineligibility for future certification assistance programs.

 

Disqualification and Revocation

  • The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to disqualify or revoke the award if:

    • Any information provided by the Applicant is found to be false, misleading, or incomplete;

    • The Applicant fails to maintain good academic standing;

    • The Applicant fails to meet ongoing eligibility requirements as determined by the Committee;

    • The Applicant violates the terms outlined herein.

 

Publicity Release             

  • Scholarship recipients agree to allow CYBR.SEC.Careers to use their name, photograph, educational institution, area of study, and scholarship story in marketing materials, annual reports, donor communications, social media, and other promotional materials unless otherwise prohibited by law.

 

Use of Name and Likeness

  • By accepting the award, the Applicant grants the Scholarship Committee and its partners the right to use the Applicant’s name, photograph, and likeness for promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.


Outcomes Reporting

  • Recipients agree to provide reasonable follow-up information regarding educational progress, certifications earned, internships, employment outcomes, and other career milestones for up to three years following receipt of funding.


Continued Eligibility and Use of Funds

  • Scholarship recipients are expected to remain enrolled in, accepted to, or actively participating in the educational, training, or certification program identified in their application.

  • If a recipient withdraws from the approved program, fails to enroll, cancels participation, or otherwise becomes ineligible before awarded funds are utilized, CYBR.SEC.Careers reserves the right to revoke the award and reallocate unused funds to another applicant.

  • Recipients must promptly notify CYBR.SEC.Careers of any changes that may affect their eligibility or ability to utilize awarded funds.

 

Non-Transferability

  • The scholarship award is non-transferable and may only be used by the Applicant for the approved educational or training program specified at the time of application.


Release of Liability

  • CYBR.SEC.Careers shall not be liable for any losses, expenses, or obligations incurred by the Applicant in anticipation of receiving an award.

  • Recipients are responsible for determining and complying with any tax obligations associated with receipt of scholarship funds. CYBR.SEC.Careers does not provide tax advice.


Privacy and Data Use

  • Information submitted through this application will be used solely for scholarship administration, award selection, reporting, and program evaluation purposes. Applicant information will not be sold or shared outside of CYBR.SEC.Careers and its authorized scholarship review partners except as required by law or as outlined in these Terms and Conditions.


Selection Process

  • Scholarship awards are determined through a competitive review process. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to determine the number and amount of awards granted in each funding cycle.


Final Authority

  • All decisions made by the Scholarship Committee regarding eligibility, selection, and award distribution are final and binding.


Changes to Terms

  • The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to modify or cancel any portion of the Scholarship program and these Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion, without prior notice, where permitted by law.
